Diesel + LPG = Power + Savings!

At Wagga City Auto Centre, we supply, fit, tune and service D-Gas injection systems.

D-Gas Technology has been designed, developed and manufactured by D-Gas Pty Ltd. to reduce diesel exhaust emissions on turbo charged diesel engines by improving the diesel combustion, making the engine more efficient and lowering exhaust emissions.

D-Gas Technology has been designed and developed to improve the operation of Diesel Engines in wide range of applications, including light commercials, 4 wheel drives and Trucks.

How it works...

The D-Gas Technology system is simple: it injects LPG Gas into the manifold as vapour. This is an important difference from other systems. The concept is to tune the combustion cycle of the engine making it more efficient, increasing POWER and TORQUE and decreasing the use (and wastage) of diesel fuel and its costs.

The D-Gas Technology system uses an internal Gas Converter that vaporises the LPG into our control box before being injected into the intake or turbo manifold, this also keeps the systems small and compact, and eliminates the need to supply fuel through the turbo, as most other gas over diesel systems do.

The D-Gas Technology system can be fitted onto any mode of transport powered by a diesel engine and the system is fitted in a convenient location for servicing.

And the Results!

Before we comitted to fitting LPG systems to your vehicle, we tried it on one of our own!

Chris' ute is a 1996 2.8 litre turbo diesel Holden Rodeo with around 180,000km on the clock. Previous to the fitting of the LPG system, the ute continually returned economy figures of 10 litres per 100km. After fitting our D-Gas system, Chris reports consumption of 6 litres diesel plus 1.5 litres LPG per 100km.

So, Total fuel costs costs before LPG conversion = $15 per 100km
With LPG, diesel costs dropped to $9 per 100km
Add LPG costs of $1.20 per 100km, = $4.80 per 100km
If Chris were to average 20,000km per year, this represents a saving of around $950 per year!

But that's not the best news! As you can see on the Dyno graph below, power has increased by over 16% from 75 hp to 87hp at the wheels. Torque is also significantly increased by more than 22%, from 283lb-ft to 347lb-ft.
